How to take care of a sick child
It's not always easy or fun when your child is sick, but because you love them, you will try to do what you can to make them feel better. That's just common-sense!
It can be stressful and an upsetting experience but you can get through this!
The first thing you should do is to asses the situation. Is the child hurting? Is it an emergency? If so, call 911.
Always provide emotional support. You can do this by providing them with their needs at the time. Stay and keep an eye on them. Sit with your child, hold their hands or simply talk to them. Those can be comforting! Trust me!
I'm sure what your child is sick with but ask them if their are hot or cold. Adjust the temperature. Give them a blanket and always a cup of water. If the air is too dry, especially if it's a cold that they have, turn on the humidifier.
It's also essential to provide them a quiet environment. Turn the TV down and the voices around your home. Take control!
Start assessing their vitals with taking their temperature. Do they have a fever? Maybe they just need some food and a lot of times, sleeping can make things a lot better.
If something extremely hurts in their body, take them to the emergency room!
It's common sense to give your child some rest right away!
If you are familiar with their symptoms and know what it is, provide some medications and always look at the side effects but if you are unsure of their sickness then take them to the doctor.
Make sure you do not have them running around or working their heart too much, they need some rest! Most likely, it might just be a flu. Call your doctor and ask for symptoms of flu and tell them what your child has symptoms wise.
Keep an eye on them for serious signs of illness, sometimes you can do a quick search on Google just for some idea but always call your doctor. A quick and fast way to ask for help without money can be consulting with the pharmacist.
